The Olympics have led to tightened police controls at the German-French border. In the Netherlands, traffic restrictions will be in place for several months due to ongoing reconstruction works on the A15 motorway. This article provides all the necessary information about these changes.
Strengthened controls at the German-French border
From 26 July to 11 August, France will be hosting the summer Olympic Games. As a result, it has been decided to strengthen border controls between Germany and France. Roadworks on the Dutch A15 motorway
Due to roadworks, traffic on the Dutch A15 motorway between Ridderkerk and Deil will be limited for some time. The reconstruction works will be carried out here from 12 July to 28 October. Vehicles will be restricted to one-lane traffic only. Traffic restrictions will be in place on the following days:
From 12 July, 10 p.m. to 19 July, 5 a.m., the section from the Gorinchem junction to the Deil junction will be closed.
From 19 July, 10 p.m. until 26 July, 5 a.m., the section from the Deil junction towards the Gorinchem junction will be closed.
From 9 August, 10 p.m. to 16 August, 5 a.m. the section between the A15/N3 towards the Gorinchem junction will be closed.
From 16 August, 10 p.m. to 22 August, 6 a.m., the section between the Gorinchem junction and the A15/N3 will be closed.
From 22 August, 1 a.m. to 26 August, 5 a.m., the section of the A15/N3 towards the Ridderkerk-Zuid junction will be closed.
From 18 October, 10 p.m. to 21 October, 5 a.m. the section from the Ridderkerk-Zuid junction to the A15/N3 will be closed for the weekend.
From 25 October, 10 p.m. until 28 October, 5 a.m., the connecting roads at the Deil junction will be closed for the weekend.
