New fines regarding the EU Mobility Package violations will soon come to force in Germany

As the EU Mobility Package is getting implemented across Europe, EU member states tend to view it differently, with some opposing and others supporting the reforms. As of now, Denmark has announced that it won‘t be penalising the law violations for three more months, while the Netherlands say that violations will be examined in a pragmatic manner (the article about this can be found here: https://bazace.ro/informatii-untile/important-au-intrat-vigoare-modificarile-pachetului-de-mobilitate-al-ue). However, it turns out that for some time Germany will be joining the list of states that overlook the violations.

Germany has recently announced that it will follow the Danish approach when it comes to the EU Mobility Package changes. The violations of new laws, such as not registering information in the tachograph after crossing the boder, will not be punished for some time. If a driver breaks this law, he will receive a verbal warning or a clarification. However, once this period is over, big fines will be implemented for both – drivers and companies responsible for them.

Failure to register information about crossing borders will be punished with a fine of  250€ in the case where the violation was deliberate. If instead the violation happened due to negligence, the driver will be charged with a 125€ fine. Simultaneously, in the case where the rule break was deliberate, the company responsible for the driver will have to pay a fine of 750€, while in other cases the fine will be of 375€.
