The new Scania electric truck has started operating in Denmark

The well-known retail company Coop has started using Scania electric trucks in Denmark. These new trucks are bound to be one of the most advanced electric HGVs as of now. Scania electric trucks have fast charging features, as the HGV can be charged fast while loading and unloading goods. The charging usually takes up to one hour. Simultaneously, the solar cells located on the roof allow to have an additional source of energy.

The truck‘s system is carbon emission free while its electric drive is so silent that there is virtually no noise pollution, making it suitable to drive in cities without bothering the residents. The electric battery allows the HGV to drive up to 140km, meaning that it can cover the Copenhagen area. Simultaneously, the truck weighs 20t and can transport 18 pallets.

Scania never stops innovating and improving its vehicles – each year the company improves its hybrid electric trucks and HGVs running on electric batteries. It comes to show that we might expect more environment-friendly trucks to appear in the upcoming years.
