In October and November 2022, many road bans and restrictions will come into effect in Europe. One of the main changes is the closure of the Mont Blanc tunnel. This tunnel will be closed from mid-October up until early November for a period of three weeks (21 days). Simultaneously, new road bans will also be introduced in many European Union countries, which may make the work of truck drivers more difficult. We provide information about the road restrictions introduced in the period of October - November in this article.

October 26, Wednesday

• In Austria, bans will apply from midnight until 10 p.m. They will apply to trucks weighing more than 7.5t.
• In Italy, bans will also apply from midnight until 10 p.m. They will apply to the area from Vipiteno to the Austrian border for all vehicles traveling north.

October 28, Friday

• In the Czech Republic, bans will apply from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. They will apply to trucks weighing more than 7.5t.

October 31, Monday

• In Croatia, bans will apply from 3 p.m. until 11 p.m. They will be valid for heavy vehicles weighing more than 7.5t and trucks longer than 14m.
• In France, bans will apply from 10 p.m. until midnight. They will apply for trucks weighing more than 7.5t.
• In Luxembourg bans will be in place from midnight until 9:45 p.m. and from 23:30 until midnight, they will apply to roads leading to Germany. On roads leading to France, these restrictions will be in place for the entire day. Restrictions will apply to all vehicles weighing more than 7.5t.
• In Germany, restrictions will apply from midnight until 10 p.m.
• In Poland, bans will apply from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. They will apply to heavy vehicles weighing more than 12t.
• In Slovenia, bans will apply from 8 am. until 10 p.m. They will be valid for vehicles weighing more than 7.5t.
• In Hungary, bans will apply from 10 p.m. until midnight. They will apply to trucks weighing more than 7.5t.

November 1, Tuesday

• In Austria, bans will apply from midnight until 10 p.m.
• In Italy, bans will apply from 9 am. until 10 p.m.
• In Croatia, bans will apply from 2 p.m. until 11 p.m.
• In Luxembourg, bans will apply from midnight until 9:45 p.m.
• In Poland, bans will apply from 8 am. until 10 p.m.
• In France, bans will apply from midnight until 10 p.m.
• In Slovenia, bans will apply from 8 am. until 10 p.m.
• In Hungary, bans will apply from midnight until 10 p.m.
• In Germany, the bans will apply from midnight until 10 p.m., but they will only apply in the following regions:
  • in Baden-Württemberg,
  • in Bavaria,
  • in North Rhine-Westphalia,
  • in Rhineland-Palatinate,
  • Saarland.

November 10, Thursday

• In Poland, bans will apply from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.

November 11, Friday

• In Poland, bans will apply from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.
• In France, the bans will apply from midnight until 10 p.m.

November 17, Thursday

• In the Czech Republic, bans will apply from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m.
• In Croatia, bans will apply from 3 p.m. until 11 p.m.

November 18, Friday

• In Croatia, bans will apply from 2 p.m. until 11 p.m.
