Road bans in Europe in July 2024

The month of July is just around the corner and it’s bringing new changes with it. Starting from next month, some European countries will be implementing new road bans on Fridays. Simultaneously, a series of new Saturday and Sunday bans will be implemented in some states. This article provides a list of all the dates during which traffic restrictions will apply in July.

On Fridays (5, 12, 19 and 26 July)

Road restrictions will apply in the following countries:

  • In the Czech Republic from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. On 5 July, these restrictions will be in force from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

  • In Greece from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. on some roads.

  • In Poland from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on some roads.

  • In Romania from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on some roads.

On 5 July, additional restrictions will come into force in Slovakia and will apply from midnight to 10 p.m.

On 26 July, additional restrictions will apply in Italy from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Saturday, 6 July

Road bans will apply in the following countries:

  • In Austria from 3 p.m. to midnight. 

  • In the Czech Republic from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

  • In Greece from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on some roads. 

  • In Italy from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on some roads.

  • In Croatia from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • In Poland from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • In Luxembourg from 9.30 p.m. to midnight for those heading towards France and from 11.30 p.m. to midnight for those heading towards Germany.

  • In France and Slovakia from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

  • In Slovenia from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on some roads.

  • In Romania from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

  • In Hungary from 3 p.m. to midnight.

  • In Germany from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Saturday, 13 July

Road bans will apply in the following countries:

  • In Austria from 3 p.m. to midnight. 

  • In the Czech Republic from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • In Greece from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on some roads. 

  • In Italy from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on some roads.

  • In Croatia from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • In Poland from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • In Luxembourg, from 9.30 p.m. to midnight for those heading towards France and from 11.30 p.m. to midnight for those heading towards Germany.

  • In France from 10 p.m. to midnight.

  • In Slovakia from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

  • In Slovenia from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on some roads.

  • In Romania from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

  • In Hungary from 3 p.m. to midnight. 

  • In Germany from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

19 and 27 July (Saturdays)

Road restrictions will apply in the following countries:

  • In Austria from 3 p.m. to midnight. 

  • In the Czech Republic from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • In Greece from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on some roads. 

  • In Italy from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on some roads.

  • In Croatia from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

  • In Poland from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • In Luxembourg from 9.30 p.m. to midnight for those heading towards France and from 11.30 p.m. to midnight for those heading towards Germany. 

  • In France and Slovakia from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

  • In Slovenia from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on some roads.

  • In Romania from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

  • In Hungary from 3 p.m. to midnight.

  • In Germany from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

On Sundays (7, 14, 21 and 28 July)

Road bans will apply in the following countries:

  • In Austria, France, Slovakia, Hungary and Germany from midnight to 10 p.m.

  • In the Czech Republic from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

  • In Greece from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on some roads.

  • In Italy from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

  • In Croatia, from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.

  • In Poland and Slovenia from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

  • In Liechtenstein and Switzerland throughout the entire day. 

  • In Luxembourg, from midnight to 9.45 p.m.

  • In Romania from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
