As the summer season comes to an end, traffic restrictions for heavy vehicles in Europe are changing. Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein will introduce new workday bans. In other countries, weekend road bans for trucks will be changing. This article lists the dates on which traffic restrictions for trucks will apply in Europe.
On all workdays (2-6 September, 9-13 September, 16-20 September, 23-27 September, 30 September)
Road bans will apply in Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. They will be in force from midnight to 5 a.m. and from 10 p.m. to midnight.
On Friday, 6 September, additional road bans will also be in place in Greece from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
On Saturdays (7, 14, 21 and 28 September)
Road bans will apply in the following countries:
In Austria from midnight to 5 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to midnight on certain roads.
In the Czech Republic from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
In Greece from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on some roads.
In Italy from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In Luxembourg from 9.30 p.m. to midnight for those heading towards France and from 11.30 p.m. to midnight for those heading towards Germany.
In Liechtenstein and Switzerland from midnight to 5 a.m. and from 10 p.m. to midnight.
In France and Hungary, from 10 p.m. to midnight.
On 7 and 14 September, additional restrictions will apply in Croatia from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m.
On Sundays (1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 September)
Road bans will apply in the following countries:
In Austria, Liechtenstein and Switzerland throughout the entire day
In France, Slovakia, Hungary and Germany, from midnight to 10 p.m.
In the Czech Republic from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
In Greece from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on some roads.
In Italy from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
In Croatia from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.
In Slovenia from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
In Luxembourg from midnight to 9.45 p.m.
On 1 September, additional restrictions will apply in Poland from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
