With the start of the fall season, many European states are changing their rules regarding truck bans. Some countries, such as Romania or Slovakia, will completely lift their previous weekend restrictions, while other countries will introduce additional bans due to national holidays. In this article, we present a list of dates on which road restrictions will be applied in European countries during the month of September.
September 8th, Friday
- Road bans in Greece will apply from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m.
- Bans in Liechtenstein will apply throughout the entire day.
September 15th, Friday
Road bans in Slovakia will be in effect from midnight to 10 p.m.
September 28th, Thursday
Road bans in the Czech Republic will apply from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m.
On Saturdays (September 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th)
In September the Saturday road bans will be in effect in the following countries:
- In Austria from 3 p.m. until midnight.
- In France from 10 p.m. until midnight.
- In Hungary from 10 p.m. until midnight (this prohibition does not apply to trucks of EURO 3 and higher categories operating in the international transport sector).
- In Luxembourg from 9.30 p.m. until midnight for those heading towards France and from 11.30 p.m. until midnight for those heading towards Germany.
Additional Saturday bans will apply in Croatia on September 2nd and 9th. These bans will be in effect from 4 a.m. until 2 p.m.
On September 2nd, additional bans will apply in the following countries:
- In Poland from 8 am. until 2 p.m.
- In Romania from 6 am. until 10 p.m.
- In Slovenia from 8 am. until 1 p.m. and from 6 a.m. until 4 p.m. on some roads.
On Sundays (September 1st, 10th, 17th, and 24th)
In September the Sunday road bans will be in effect in the following countries:
- In Austria, Germany, and Slovakia from midnight to 10 p.m.
- In the Czech Republic from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m.
- In Greece from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m. on certain roads (except for September 17th and 24th).
- In Italy from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.
- In Croatia from 12 p.m. until 11 p.m.
- In Luxembourg from midnight to 9:45 p.m.
- In Liechtenstein and Switzerland throughout the whole day.
- In Poland and Slovenia from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.
- In Hungary from midnight to 10 p.m. (this ban does not apply to trucks of EURO 3 and higher categories operating in the international transport sector).
- In France from midnight to 10 p.m.
